Aion 2 Alliance Voice: One Shotcaller Across Allied Legions
Two legions agree to fight an artifact siege together. Both are on the same faction, both want the same artifact, and both have a capable shotcaller. On siege night the fight goes badly anyway, because each legion is listening to its own caller in its own Discord server, and the two forces push at different times.
That's the usual problem for an Aion 2 alliance. In this post, an alliance means two legions on the same faction agreeing to fight under one call. Each legion already runs its own Discord, and neither wants to move into the other's. This guide covers how to get one shotcaller heard by both legions without merging servers, how to set it up, and how to handle the politics of who calls. For ShotCaller on Aion 2 in general, start with the Aion 2 page.
Why Allied Legions End Up With Split Comms
Aion 2 voice chat works per party. A force joins up to 4 parties of 5 for 20 players, and there's no evidence of in-game voice that covers a force or a legion, let alone two legions. So legions run their comms on Discord, and each legion has its own server with its own roles, rules and party channels.
When two legions ally, the common workarounds each cost something:
- Everyone joins the host legion's Discord. Members end up in a server they don't belong to, with someone else's rules and roles. Admins have to hand out temporary roles and clean them up after. Some members just won't do it.
- Each legion keeps its own caller, and the two callers coordinate in a shared channel. Calls go through two people before reaching anyone, and the delay shows in the fight.
- Liaisons sit in both servers and repeat calls across. This has the same delay with an extra person who can mishear.
What the alliance needs is one shotcaller voice reaching party channels in both servers at once, while each legion keeps its own server.
How Cross-Server Voice Works on the Alliance Plan
ShotCaller's Alliance plan links two Discord servers. The shotcaller speaks in the host server's shotcaller channel, and ShotCaller relays that voice to speaker channels in both servers at the same time, with latency under 100ms. Members of both legions stay in their own server, in their own party channel, and install nothing.
| Host legion | Allied legion | |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | Alliance plan, $25/month | None needed |
| Speaker channels | 12 | 12 |
| Total during cross-server relay | 24 across both servers | |
| Who runs the relay | Shotcaller in the host's shotcaller channel | Hears the host's shotcaller in its own party channels |
| When the relay is off | Runs its own relay as normal | Runs its own relay as normal |
The allied server gets Guild Master tier (12 speaker channels) while the alliance is active, so the allied legion can use ShotCaller on its own nights too. Both servers operate independently when cross-server relay is off.
At five players per party channel, 24 channels have room for 120 players across both legions. The Alliance plan includes the same 7-day free trial as every plan. The cross-server voice guide has more detail on how the relay works, and pricing compares every plan.
How to Set Up Alliance Voice for Two Aion 2 Legions
Step 1: The host legion subscribes to the Alliance plan
One legion pays and becomes the host. Usually that's the legion whose shotcaller will call most often, since the relay starts from the host's shotcaller channel. Sign in with Discord on the ShotCaller dashboard, pick your server, and choose the Alliance plan.
Step 2: The host sets up its channels
In the dashboard, pick the host's shotcaller channel, its party channels, and the roles that can call and start the relay. If your legion is new to ShotCaller, the setup guide walks through it, and the Aion 2 Discord setup guide has a channel layout built around 5-player parties.
Step 3: Create an alliance invite code
On the dashboard's Alliance page, create an invite code. Send it privately to the allied legion's Discord admin. The code works once. If it gets posted somewhere it shouldn't, regenerate it before anyone uses it.
Step 4: The allied legion joins
The allied admin signs in to the ShotCaller dashboard with Discord, selects their own server, and enters the invite code. Then they pick their own party channels and roles and invite the ShotCaller bots to their server, the same way the host did. The allied legion keeps full control of its own server: its admins decide which channels take part and who gets which role.
Step 5: Start cross-server relay before the fight
Before the siege, someone with the relay role on the host server types /start-cross-server in Discord. The host's shotcaller now reaches party channels in both servers. Type /stop-cross-server when the fight ends, and each legion goes back to running on its own.
Do a sound check the first time. Have the shotcaller count off parties in both servers and have each party leader confirm in their own party chat.
Who Controls the Call
Agree on these before the first joint siege, and write them down somewhere both legions' officers can see.
One shotcaller per fight
With two callers in one fight, parties follow whichever voice they hear first. Pick the shotcaller for each siege in advance. Some alliances use the same caller every time; others rotate by siege night or by which legion brought more players.
The shotcaller sits in the host server
The relay starts from the host server's shotcaller channel, so whoever calls joins that channel. If the allied legion's leader is calling tonight, they join the host's Discord and its shotcaller channel. Only the callers need to be in both servers; members stay home.
Primary and secondary commanders
ShotCaller supports primary and secondary priority roles. A common setup gives the main shotcaller the primary role and the other legion's caller the secondary role, as backup. When the primary speaks, they take priority. If the primary dies or disconnects, the secondary keeps the fight going without anyone needing to change settings.
Talk-back from both legions
Party leaders in both servers can report back to the shotcaller with Talk-Back. A party leader holds Discord's Push to Talk (Priority) key, and their voice reaches the host's shotcaller channel as well as their own party. Allied party leaders need the Priority Speaker permission in their own server, which the allied admin grants; see Discord's Priority Speaker guide. The Talk-Back guide covers keybinds and troubleshooting.
Keep Priority Speaker to party leaders and scouts in both legions. If twenty people from two servers can talk back, the shotcaller can't hear the reports that matter.
Etiquette Between Allied Legions
Agree on a call language
Global servers mix languages. Pick one language for calls and stick to it during fights. Party chatter inside each party channel can stay in whatever language that party speaks.
Use one party numbering scheme
If both legions have a "Party 1," the shotcaller's "Party 1, push" moves two groups. Number parties across the alliance (Parties 1 to 4 for the host, 5 to 8 for the ally) or prefix them by legion. Rename the Discord channels to match so nobody has to remember a mapping.
Respect each other's servers
The allied legion's server stays theirs. The host legion's officers don't get admin in it, and the reverse is true too. Channel changes, role changes and moderation stay with each legion's own admins. Use Discord's channel permission overrides so each side can lock its own shotcaller and officer channels.
Keep internal business internal
Recruitment, loot disputes and legion drama stay in each legion's own text channels. The cross-server relay is for fight calls only.
Debrief together, briefly
After the siege, the shotcaller and both legions' officers spend a few minutes on what worked. Do it in a shared officer channel or the host's lobby, and leave members out of it.
Don't poach
Running comms together puts both legions' members within earshot of each other's leadership. Agree up front that neither legion recruits from the other during the alliance.
When an Alliance Plan Makes Sense
The Alliance plan fits when two legions on the same faction fight together regularly, each runs its own Discord, and you want one shotcaller to reach both. If you're one legion with several forces, the Guild Master plan's 12 channels may be enough. If the alliance only meets occasionally, use the 7-day free trial to test it on one siege night first.

FAQ
Can two Aion 2 legions share one Discord voice call?
Yes, without merging servers. With ShotCaller's Alliance plan, the shotcaller speaks in the host server's channel and party channels in both legions' Discord servers hear the call at the same time. Members stay in their own server.
Does the allied legion need to pay?
No. Only the host legion subscribes to the Alliance plan at $25/month. The allied server gets Guild Master tier, with 12 speaker channels, while the alliance is active.
How many Discord servers can be linked?
Two. The Alliance plan links the host server and one allied server, with 24 speaker channels in total across both during cross-server relay.
Can allied party leaders talk back to the shotcaller?
Yes. Allied party leaders with Priority Speaker in their own server hold Discord's Push to Talk (Priority) key, and their voice reaches the host shotcaller channel. Their normal push-to-talk stays inside their party.
What happens when cross-server relay is off?
Each server runs independently. Both legions can use their own ShotCaller relay with /start for their own events. Cross-server relay only runs between /start-cross-server and /stop-cross-server.
Can Elyos and Asmodian legions ally?
No. Elyos and Asmodians are opposing factions on separate servers, and each legion belongs to one faction. An Aion 2 alliance in practice is two legions on the same side.
Who should host the alliance?
Usually the legion whose shotcaller calls most often, since the relay starts from the host's shotcaller channel. A caller from the allied legion can still call by joining the host's shotcaller channel.
Fight as One Force
An Aion 2 alliance works when both legions hear the same call at the same time and each keeps its own Discord. Agree on the shotcaller, the backup, the party numbers and the call language before the first siege, then let the relay carry the call to both servers.
