Aion 2 Legion PvP: Shotcalling Artifact Sieges and Abyss Fights

Aion 2 PvP is organized around legions. Elyos and Asmodian legions meet in the Abyss, fight over artifacts, and send 10-player teams into arenas. Good gear and good players help, but the legion that wins a contested artifact is usually the one whose parties act on the same call at the same moment.

This guide is about that part: who talks, who listens, how to structure a 20-player force, and how to keep comms clean when four parties are fighting in different spots. It ends with how to run it on Discord so one shotcaller reaches every party. For the overview of ShotCaller for Aion 2 legions, see the Aion 2 page.

What Aion 2 PvP Asks of Your Comms

Three kinds of fights shape how a legion talks.

The Abyss (Reshanta) is open PvPvE. Rifts open, enemy groups roam, and fights start without warning. Your comms need to handle sudden engagements, where the first call decides whether a force collapses on the enemy or gets picked apart.

Artifact sieges are scheduled. Fan guides report they run three times a week, on Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 21:00 server time; check the in-game schedule, since times can change. According to the same guides, the side that lands the last strike on a Dimensional Core claims the artifact, and holding artifacts gives your whole faction an Abyss Point buff and access to Abyss Corridors, so the stakes reach well past your own legion.

Arenas and battlegrounds are 10v10. Two parties' worth of players, one caller, and no room for crosstalk.

Large fortress sieges aren't in the game at launch, so for now artifact sieges are the main scheduled legion fight. They're also where comms break down most, because a siege needs several parties doing different jobs while the final call, the push for the last strike, has to land for everyone at once.

Comms Roles for an Aion 2 Legion

Decide these before siege night and post them in Discord. If people are working out who calls while the fight is on, the fight is already going badly.

Role How many What they say When they talk
Shotcaller 1 Engages, retreats, targets, movement, the final push on the core Any time
Backup caller 1 Takes over if the shotcaller dies, disconnects or loses track Only when handed the call
Party leaders 1 per party Party status, local threats, "we're in position" To their party any time; to the shotcaller only for short reports
Scouts 1 to 3 Enemy numbers, direction, rift activity Short reports to the shotcaller
Members Everyone else Party-level chatter In their own party channel

The shotcaller

One person calls for the whole force. They watch the map, track enemy forces, and make the decisions. A good Aion 2 shotcaller talks less than you'd expect: short calls, a clear verb, then quiet so the parties can act.

Party leaders

Each party of 5 has a leader who handles the small stuff inside the party: who peels for the healer, who chases, when to pop defensive cooldowns. They pass short reports up to the shotcaller, and they keep their party from talking over the main call.

Scouts

Scouts are the shotcaller's eyes. In the Abyss they sit near rifts or common routes and report what's coming. In a siege they watch the approaches the main force can't see. A scout report that arrives late is worth nothing, so scouts need a fast, direct line to the shotcaller.

The backup caller

Pick one before the fight and tell everyone who it is. When the shotcaller drops, the backup says "I have the call" and keeps going.

How to Structure Four Parties Into a Force

A force joins up to 4 parties of 5, for 20 players. Give each party a job so the shotcaller can call parties by number instead of explaining positions mid-fight.

Party Typical job Example call
Party 1 Main body, stays with the shotcaller "Party 1, push with me"
Party 2 Main body support, protects healers "Party 2, peel for Party 1's backline"
Party 3 Flank or objective pressure "Party 3, swing left and hit their healers"
Party 4 Scouting, picks and reinforcement "Party 4, hold the route and call numbers"

These are a starting point. Some legions run three parties together and keep one free; others split two and two. What matters is that every member knows their party number and their party's job before the fight.

If your legion fields more than one force, name them. "Force A Party 3" is clearer than "Party 7," and it lets each force have its own lead if the shotcaller hands off local decisions.

Mirror the structure in Discord. One voice channel per party, each with a user limit of 5, so your Discord parties match your in-game parties exactly. The Aion 2 Discord setup guide has a full channel layout.

Callout Discipline

Clean comms come from habits, and the whole legion has to share them.

Use a fixed call format

Every call should answer who, what and where. "Party 3, hit healers, left side." "All parties, fall back to the rift." "Force A, hold, wait for my call." Start with who the call is for, so people who aren't named can keep focusing on their own fight.

Count down for the moments that matter

Since the last strike on a Dimensional Core decides who claims it, the final burst has to land together. A countdown ("Burst on core in 3, 2, 1, go") gives every party the same timing. Use the same countdown every time so nobody guesses where "go" falls.

Give scouts a report format

Number, direction, then anything unusual. "Twelve coming from the north rift, mostly ranged." The shotcaller can act on that in one breath. "Uh, there's a bunch of them over here I think" makes the shotcaller ask follow-up questions while the enemy closes in.

Quiet during the fight

During an active engagement, only the shotcaller, party leaders and scouts speak, and members keep their push-to-talk key up. Post-fight discussion waits until the fight is over. Members who need to say something urgent tell their party leader, who decides whether it goes up.

Push to talk for everyone

Open mics in a party channel pick up keyboard noise, background TV and breathing. Everyone uses push to talk during legion PvP. Leaders and scouts need it anyway for talk-back, below.

Talk-Back for Scouts and Party Leaders

The difficult part of comms in a split force is getting information back to the shotcaller. The shotcaller is in one channel; scouts and party leaders are in theirs. Hopping between channels drops a party leader from their own party, and typing in chat is too slow when an enemy force is coming through a rift.

ShotCaller's Talk-Back uses Discord's Priority Speaker. A party leader or scout holds their Push to Talk (Priority) key, and their voice goes to the shotcaller channel as well as their own party. Their normal push-to-talk key stays inside the party. Other parties don't hear talk-back, so the shotcaller gets reports without every party hearing every scout.

Set it up like this:

  1. Give your Party Leader and Scout roles the Priority Speaker permission, either server-wide or on each party channel. Discord's Priority Speaker guide covers the permission.
  2. Each leader and scout turns on Push to Talk in Discord's Voice & Video settings. Priority Speaker needs push-to-talk mode, as described in Discord's input mode guide.
  3. They bind two keys: Push to Talk (Normal) for their party, Push to Talk (Priority) for the shotcaller. Mouse 4 and Mouse 5 work well.

If two scouts report at once, ShotCaller mixes their voices into the shotcaller channel so neither gets cut off. Priority Speaker only works in the Discord desktop app, so scouts on mobile can't use it. The Talk-Back guide has the full setup and a troubleshooting checklist.

Limit Priority Speaker to leaders and scouts. If every member has it, the shotcaller hears twenty voices and the point of talk-back is lost.

Running Aion 2 Legion Comms on Discord With ShotCaller

In-game voice works per party, so it can't carry one shotcaller to a 20-player force. On Discord, the shotcaller can only be in one voice channel at a time. ShotCaller relays the shotcaller's voice from one Discord channel into every party channel at the same moment, with latency under 100ms. Members stay in their party channel, hear the call over their party chatter, and install nothing.

Setup takes a few minutes:

  1. Sign in with Discord on the ShotCaller dashboard and pick your legion's server.
  2. Choose the shotcaller channel, the party channels, and the roles that can call and start the relay.
  3. Invite the ShotCaller bots.
  4. Type /start in Discord before the siege, and /stop after.

The ShotCaller setup guide walks through each step, and the configuration docs explain the options.

Primary and secondary commanders

ShotCaller supports primary and secondary priority roles. Give the main shotcaller the primary role and the backup caller the secondary role. When the primary speaks, they take priority. The backup can still call when the primary goes quiet, and they never talk over the main call.

Pick channels by force count

Legion PvP setup Party channels Plan
One force 4 Squad Leader, $5/month
Two forces 8 Raid Commander, $8/month
Three forces 12 Guild Master, $15/month
Two allied legions on separate Discord servers 24 across both Alliance, $25/month

All plans have a 7-day free trial, so you can test it on a siege night before paying. See pricing.

If your legion fights alongside another legion that runs its own Discord server, the Alliance plan relays one shotcaller to both servers. Aion 2 Alliance Voice: One Shotcaller Across Allied Legions covers the setup and the etiquette, and the cross-server voice guide explains how the relay works.

Siege Night Checklist

  1. Post the siege time in members' local time zones, and confirm it in-game.
  2. Assign parties and party leaders in Discord before members log in.
  3. Name the shotcaller and backup caller in #announcements.
  4. Check that leaders and scouts have Priority Speaker and their two keybinds.
  5. Move everyone from the staging lobby into their party channel 15 minutes early.
  6. Run /start and have the shotcaller do a quick sound check: "Party 1 to 4, say ready in party chat."
  7. Agree on the countdown and the fallback point.
  8. After the siege, run /stop and do a short debrief in the lobby.

FAQ

What is a force in Aion 2?

A force joins up to 4 parties of 5 players, for 20 players in total. Legions use forces for artifact sieges and larger Abyss fights. In Discord, give each party its own voice channel so the structure matches the game.

How many players are in an Aion 2 party?

Five. NC raised the party size from 4 to 5. In-game voice chat works within a party, which is why legions use Discord to connect several parties.

When are artifact sieges in Aion 2?

Fan guides report artifact sieges run three times a week, on Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 21:00 server time. Check the in-game schedule before planning around it, since times can change.

How do you claim an artifact in Aion 2?

According to fan guides, the side that lands the last strike on the Dimensional Core claims the artifact. That makes the timing of the final burst the most important call in the siege.

What do artifacts give your faction?

Fan guides report that holding artifacts gives your faction an Abyss Point buff and access to Abyss Corridors. The benefit is faction-wide, so other legions on your side have a reason to help.

Are there fortress sieges in Aion 2?

Not at launch. Large fortress sieges aren't in the game yet, so artifact sieges and Abyss fights are the main legion PvP.

How do scouts report to the shotcaller without flooding every party?

Use Talk-Back. Scouts hold Discord's Push to Talk (Priority) key, and ShotCaller sends their voice to the shotcaller channel only, plus their own party. Other parties don't hear it.

Can two callers share a siege?

Yes. Give the main shotcaller ShotCaller's primary role and the backup the secondary role. When the primary speaks, they take priority, and the secondary can call when the primary is quiet.

Win the Call First

Aion 2 PvP rewards legions that act together: one call, every party, the same moment. Set up clear roles, give each party a job, keep the channel quiet during the fight, and give scouts a fast line back to the shotcaller.
